Manuscript map, pen-and-ink and watercolor, detailing the advance of British forces under Major General Robert Ross on Washington, D.C., including the Battle of Bladensburg, and the route of the army's return after the burning of Washington. Shows area in Maryland from Benedict to Bladensburg, including Washington, D.C.
Includes five insets showing detailed positions at: Benedict; a point northwest of Benedict; Nottingham; Upper Marlborough; and "Wood Yard" (southwest of Upper Marlborough).
