Abstract:
Collection of twelve manuscripts: 1. Short prayer for the new Islamic year by an anonymous author (folios 1a-2a). 2. Mukhtaṣar Wiqāyat al-riwāyah fī masāʼil al-Hidāyah (folios 6b-178a), by ʻUbayd Allāh ibn Masʻūd ibn Maḥmūd, a treatise on Islamic law according to the Ḥanafī School, being an abridgment of Maḥmūd ibn ʻUbayd Allāh al-Maḥbūbīʼs "Wiqāyat al-riwāyah", itself an abridgment of Burhān al-Dīn al-Marghīnānīʼs "Hidāyāh". Copied in 1292 Hijrī (1875/1876). 3. Farāʼid al-fawāʼid li-taḥqīq maʻānī al-istiʻārah wa-aqsāmihā (folios190b-193a), a treatise on metaphor, also called "al-Risālah al-Samarqandīyah", by Abū al-Qāsim ibn Abī Bakr al-Samarqandī, active 15th century. 4. Gloss on a commentary on al-Risālah al-Samarqandīyh (folios 194b-209b) of Abū al-Qāsim ibn Abī Bakr al-Samarqandī, active 15th century by ʻIṣām al-Dīn ibn Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm (could not be identified, probably a scion of the Isfarāyīnī family which some of its members have commented on this epistle). 5. Tarikat al-mayyit (Estate of the deceased) by an anonymous author (folios 210b-231b), on inheritance and succession according to Islamic law. 6. al-Masāʼil allatī tukassaru ʻalá ṭāʼifah wāḥidah (folios 232a-233b) by an anonymous author (in Arabic and Persian), a short treatise on dividing the inheritance according to Islamic law. 7. Treatise on the burden of proof for a claimant (folio 234a) by an anonymous author. 8. Treatise on the structure of the Arabic language (folios 234b-236b) by an anonymous author. 9. Treatise on the case endings in the Arabic language (folios 236b-263a) by an anonymous author. 10. al-Risālah al-Shamsīyah fī al-qawāʻid al-manṭiqīyah (folios 263b-265b), a treatise on logic, by ʻAlī ibn ʻUmar al-Qazwīnī (1203 or 1204-1276 or 1277), a logician, physician and philosopher. 11. Anonymous commentary on an anonymous treatise on Arabic grammar (folios 267b-305b). 12. al-Risālah al-jāmiʻah li-khamsat ashyāʼ (folios 306b-333b) by an anonymous author, an alphabetical list of Islamic law Ḥanafī scholars mentioned in Jāmiʻ al-rumūz "Compendium of symbols", a work on traditionalists mentioned by Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ḥusām al-Dīn al-Quhustānī (died approximately 1546), itself a commentary on al-Wiqāyah, by ʻUbayd Allāh ibn Masʻūd (Maḥbūbī, ʻUbayd Allāh ibn Masʻūd, died 1346 or 1347). The fifth part of the treatise deals with "al-muʻarrab", a list of arabized Persian words.
